The collaborative partnership between Parweld and RBW Robotics Company has consistently focused on making robotic welding accessible, user-friendly, and highly efficient for fabrication workshops.
To keep pace with the demanding requirements of modern high-density industrial environments, we have introduced a series of powerful upgrades to our collaborative robot (Cobot) setup. These key hardware and software evolutions are detailed below.
Cobot Changes
Power Source Change: APT Forge Pulse Series
The defining shift in the new cobot setup is the introduction of the APT Forge Pulse Series, which replaces the outgoing APT+ Series. Unlike the older generation, the Forge Pulse series features a next-generation communication interface that connects directly to automated and robotic systems via standard Ethernet. This eliminates the need for complex, proprietary wiring and ensures high-speed data exchange.
The APT (Advanced Power Technology) brand represents our uncompromising commitment to industrial performance, precision, and technological innovation. Built for professionals who demand flawless execution on every joint, APT Forge Pulse machines are designed to push the boundaries of what is possible in modern fabrication.
The APT Forge Pulse Series redefines versatility by putting elite-level arc control at your fingertips. Whether you are navigating intricate positions, tackling heat-sensitive alloys, or executing high-speed industrial production, our specialised pulsing modes adapt dynamically to your workflow. Experience reduced spatter, minimised distortion, and a flawless finish across all materials. Beneath the rugged exterior of the Forge Pulse Series lies our proprietary Advanced Power Technology suite of programs. These specialised software algorithms modify the arc characteristics in real-time, solving the most common challenges faced by industrial fabricators—from deep groove penetration to open-root gaps.

Tablet Change: Android Device
In older configurations, operators programmed and monitored the cobot using a Windows-based tablet. The latest setups have transitioned to an Android tablet. This swap offers several operational advantages:
Snappy, Lightweight Interface: Android’s mobile-first architecture allows RBW’s proprietary “Point & Click” software to load faster, boot instantly, and run with lower latency compared to full desktop operating systems.
Reliability & Battery Life: Android tablets generally run cooler in dusty workshop environments and offer vastly superior battery life when undocked from the workstation trolley.
Intuitive Teaching Interaction: Operating the tablet feels as natural as using a smartphone. It pairs seamlessly with the physical RB-RING teaching tool, making adjustments to automatic touch sensing, copy-pasting, and weld offsets immediate.
Torch Change: Cobot / Robotic Torches
Automation subjects equipment to duty cycles that standard hand-held torches simply aren’t designed to survive. To address this, Parweld has introduced a line of purpose-built Cobot/Robotic MIG/MAG and TIG Welding Torches.
Engineered for Constant Duty: Designed to handle continuous, high-amperage cycles without overheating, protecting both the torch consumables and the internal wiring.
Perfect Tool-Center-Point (TCP) Alignment: These torches are constructed to seat perfectly inside RBW’s safety holder and end-of-arm tooling (like the PSR02A collision sensor). This ensures that the physical wire position aligns perfectly with the programming, even after a tip replacement or nozzle cleaning.
Cobot Overview
What Are Cobots?
Cobots, or collaborative robots, are robotic systems designed to work alongside humans in shared workspaces. Unlike traditional industrial robots, which typically operate in isolation to ensure safety, cobots are equipped with advanced sensors, safety features, and programming that allow them to interact safely and efficiently with people. These robots are often lightweight, flexible, and easy to program, making them suitable for a variety of tasks such as assembly, quality inspection, packaging, and even healthcare applications. Cobots are increasingly popular in industries looking to improve productivity, enhance precision, and reduce the strain on human workers by handling repetitive or physically demanding tasks. Their ability to collaborate directly with humans is transforming workplaces, enabling safer and more efficient workflows.
How Are Cobots Used In Welding?
A Welding Cobot or Cobot welders are collaborative robots specifically designed to assist in welding tasks, combining human oversight with robotic precision and consistency. These systems integrate advanced robotic arms equipped with welding tools, sensors, and programming to perform various welding processes such as MIG, TIG, or spot welding. Unlike traditional welding robots, cobot welders are designed to work alongside human operators safely, thanks to built-in safety features like force sensors and collision detection. They are typically user-friendly, with intuitive programming interfaces, allowing operators to easily set up and modify tasks without requiring extensive robotic expertise. Cobot welders are widely used in industries like automotive, construction, and manufacturing, where they enhance productivity, improve weld quality, and reduce physical strain on workers by handling repetitive or hazardous welding tasks.

Store Jobs For Later Use

Improved Quality
By integrating the precision of a Cobot and the advanced welding performance of the APT Forge Pulse MIG/MAG machine, users can increase quality and output levels, whilst reducing labour cost, freeing your skilled welders to perform other tasks. Return on investment is typically 6-18 months.
Our system is not just about welding small parts, the mobile table means you can take the Cobot to the job to perform welding on larger fabrications

Weave Control
Operating the weave function on larger fillet welds ensures the weld seam is always spot on as the APT Forge Pulse welding machine monitors the Arc Voltage to ensure the weld bead stays on track
