Parweld introduces the New Inherently Flame-Retardant (IFR) additions to our premier Panther PPE lineup. Engineered with advanced protective fabrics woven directly into the thread, the new IFR garments are built to deliver maximum heat resistance, long-lasting durability, and dynamic ergonomic freedom—wash after wash, shift after shift.
From full-body coveralls and protective jackets to breathable mid-layers and headwear, explore how the expanded Panther range combines premier safety standards with all-day comfort for the modern welder.
Inherent Flame Retardant Safety
At Parweld, your safety is the foundation of everything we do. When working in high-heat environments or dealing with the constant risks of sparks and molten metal, your PPE needs to be more than just clothing—it needs to be a permanent, reliable barrier.
Our new IFR (Inherent Flame Retardant) range represents the pinnacle of protective technology, moving beyond traditional treatments to provide protection that is built into the very DNA of the fabric.
The term “Inherent” refers to the fundamental nature of the fibres used to construct our garments. Unlike standard fabrics that have been dipped or coated in flame-retardant chemicals to resist ignition, IFR fabrics are crafted from specialised fibres—such as aramids and modacrylics—that possess natural flame resistance at the molecular level.
Because this protection is an intrinsic part of the fibre itself, it cannot be washed out, worn away, or degraded through repeated industrial laundering.
Yes, the Parweld Panther IFR range is specifically engineered for maximum safety in welding environments, fully conforming to BS EN ISO 11611 (welding protection) and BS EN ISO 11612 (heat and flame resistance) standards.
Choosing our IFR range means investing in long-term safety and performance. Here is why it stands as the superior choice for professional welders and industrial workers:
- Permanent Protection: Your safety remains constant from the first day you wear the garment until the last. You never have to worry about the protective qualities fading over time.
- Self-Extinguishing Properties: In the rare event of contact with a flame or intense heat source, IFR fibres will naturally self-extinguish as soon as the source is removed. This prevents the “after-burn” effect that can lead to severe secondary injuries.
- No Melting or Drip: Unlike synthetic materials that can melt and adhere to the skin when exposed to high temperatures, Parweld IFR garments maintain their structural integrity. They act as a stable, insulating barrier that shields the wearer from thermal energy.
- Engineered Comfort & Durability: We combine this advanced molecular safety with ergonomic design. Our IFR range is built to be breathable and flexible, ensuring that you stay protected without sacrificing mobility or comfort during long shifts.
By choosing our IFR range, you are not just meeting safety standards—you are choosing a product engineered for the realities of the modern workplace. Protection that is built to last, providing you with the confidence to focus on the job at hand.
Treated FR fabrics start as standard cotton and are submerged in a chemical flame-retardant bath. Over time, washing and heavy use can strip this chemical layer away. IFR fabrics build flame resistance directly into the molecular structure of the fibers. The protection is permanent and lasts for the lifetime of the garment.
Panther IFR gear balances heavy-duty protection with breathability and flexibility. While full leather provides maximum resistance against heavy slag and severe spatter, IFR fabric reduces weight and heat fatigue, making it far more comfortable for long shifts, high-ambient-temperature environments, or precision tasks like TIG welding where dexterity matters.
- Temperature: Machine wash in warm water (up to 40°C / 104°F) using mild detergent.
- Avoid Bleach & Softeners: Never use chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, or fabric softeners, as they can weaken the fibers or leave flammable residues on the fabric surface.
- Contaminants: Wash heavily soiled workwear separately to prevent grease and oil transfer to other garments.
No. Because Panther IFR garments use inherently flame-resistant fibers, washing does not compromise their heat- and flame-blocking properties. However, thoroughly rinse out all soaps, as detergent buildup can ignite under extreme heat.
Garments should fit comfortably loose without being baggy. A slightly loose fit creates an insulating air gap between the fabric and your skin, which significantly improves thermal protection against radiant heat. Avoid oversized sleeves or loose cuffs that could snag or trap hot sparks.
